Dermal Fillers in Dartford, Kent & Bromley, London

Dermal Fillers Treatment by Intrigue Clinic

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of our own skin. Its hydrating, lubricating and elastic properties make the face well rounded, smooth and well defined. As we age, our levels of hyaluronic acid deplete, and so the skin begins to lose volume, fold and sag.

Dermal fillers are a “gel-like” synthetic material made up of hyaluronic acid. Their use in aesthetics means we are able to restore and volumise skin and facial contours to form a more youthful appearance. They can also smooth lines and wrinkles, firm key facial structures and define the shape of lips or certain areas of lips.

There are many different products on the market, each with its own history and advantages for use. On average, fillers treatment can last between 6-18 months, depending on the product used and where we are treating.

Dermal fillers & Lip fillers treatment from Intrigue Clinic is available in Gravesend, Bromley, Dartford and Kent for customers.

The Dermal Fillers Treatment Process

Consultation
During your consultation we will assess your skin to evaluate how much volume atrophy has taken place, so that we can determine precisely how much filler to use and at which specific sites around the face.

If you are interested in lip fillers or non-surgical rhinoplasty (dermal fillers for the nose) we will assess the symmetry and dimensions of these areas in detail.

We may recommend a combination treatment with anti-wrinkle injections if you present with volume loss accompanied by fine lines and wrinkles.

Once you are happy to proceed, we can book you in for your treatment.

Treatment

The filler is injected at the pre-agreed locations across the face. This takes 10-30 minutes, and you will see instant, visible results. Aesthetic Practitioner at Intrigue Cosmetic Clinic Amish Patel will recommend how often to come in for maintenance top-up treatments.

The Benefits of Dermal Fillers

The hyaluronic acid composition of dermal fillers makes them a natural solution for reintroducing plumpness and volume into the skin. In deciding to have dermal fillers as a means of reinvigorating your skin, you will be hosting a substance that your skin is completely familiar with.

Our patients also love dermal fillers because:

  • There is no recovery time.
  • No surgical instruments are used.
  • The results are fully natural and balanced against your natural features and skin anatomy.
  • Treatment takes 30 minutes.
  • You can resume work right away.
  • Non-permanent treatment (the fillers naturally biodegrade).
  • Predictable results.

We understand that it can be a difficult time when you notice your skin doesn’t quite look as radiant, plump, and supple as it once did. With dermal fillers, the ageing process can be slowed down in a discreet way that is sympathetic with your natural expressions and facial characteristics.

FAQs

Dermal fillers can be used in the following ways:

Lips

The most popular use of dermal fillers. The size, volume and shape of the lips can be plumped and enhanced to give a defined and symmetrical lip area.

Cheeks

The cheek area is particularly vulnerable to volume loss. With cheek fillers, a lifting effect can be created to give the impression of higher cheekbones. This also improves the appearance of nasolabial folds which run parallel on each side of the cheek area.

Nasolabial folds

Lines from the nose to the corners of each mouth adjacent to side of each cheek. Fillers can de-accentuate such lines, leaving you without deep folds.

Tear troughs

These are the areas underneath the eyes affected by dark circles. Dermal fillers can improve under-eye bags and tackle loss of volume in this delicate area of skin.

Jaw and chin

The jawline and chin areas can be softened or angulated to produce a more symmetrical profile and add proportion and contour to the lower face. Fillers in these areas can also reduce the effects of skin sagging as a result of volume loss.

Nose

Dermal fillers can be used to deliver a ‘liquid nose job’, known by its official treatment name, ‘non-surgical rhinoplasty’. Amish Patel has an exemplary reputation for this treatment, serving clients who visit the clinic from as far overseas as Dubai.

A number of factors determine the longevity of dermal fillers within the skin, such as your age, genetics, lifestyle and the rate at which your body naturally breaks down the fillers.

Patients can generally expect the results to last for 6 to 18 months, and top-up treatments can help to maintain the optimal result.

We offer both anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers to combat skin ageing and enhance certain parts of the face.

Dermal fillers are exactly what the name suggest; they fill and tighten areas of skin where volume has become lost, and skin sagging has started to take its toll. Meanwhile, anti-wrinkle injections tackle a different type of skin ageing: wrinkles, and lines.

Both treatments can be had in combination to achieve a youthful complexion. However, it may be that you are experiencing volume loss without wrinkles or vice versa and therefore do not need both treatments at the present time. Aesthetic Practitioner Amish Patel will be able to advise on which next steps to take once a full examination of your skin has been carried out.

Hyaluronic acid and collagen supplies within the skin start to drop around our late 20s and early 30s.

Whilst you may not notice any overtly obvious signs of volume loss, it will incrementally begin happening around this time (collagen stores reduce by approximately 1% each year our late 20s and early 30s).

Starting dermal fillers early can serve as a maintenance treatment, so that the loss of volume in the skin does not become obvious as you age. This will also mean you are likely to require less product when you reach your 40s and 50s.

This said, if you haven’t started fillers in your late 20s or early 30s, it’s perfectly acceptable and beneficial to start when you’re in your 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.

There is nothing more important to us than making sure you are safe and comfortable. Prior to treatment a numbing cream is applied to the treatment sites, so that discomfort is kept to a minimum. As the cream begins to wear off a few hours after treatment, it’s normal to experience some mild bruising and discomfort. This should subside within 24 hours and generally will not necessitate the use of painkillers.

Avoid consuming alcohol and putting pressure on your face for the first 48 hours after treatment. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours, as well as hot environments such as saunas, tanning beds, excessive sun exposure and steam rooms (which can increase blood pressure and cause bruising across the injection sites).

Some small degree of bruising is normal, but this can usually be controlled by gently applying a cold compress to the area.
